Hello,

My name is Joseph Squier, and I teach in the Photography Program at the
University of Illinois. I recently attended a presentation by Jane Block
about the MESL program.

I find this project VERY exciting because it parallels many of the things
that I'm doing in my classes. Currently, I have web sites for all my
courses, and this is where my students access the syllabus, find out about
assignments, and so forth. Many of their assigned readings are actually
archived on the Net, and there are direct links to this material from the
class Web site. They use FirstClass electronic conferencing software to
submit all written assignments, and we also use it to supplement class-
room discussions.

Additionally, next Fall I will be creating a small database of 20th
Century photography that our photo students can access via the Web.

Because of all this, I am very interested in possible access to the
Eastman House holdings, and would be happy to collaborate in some way.

I would be interested in using some of your images in my classrooms,
particularly 20th Century imagery. I am wondering if there might be
some convenient way for you to give me a better idea of what is
included in your collection?

thank you for your time and consideration.
