In case you do not subscribe to humanist, here's a version of the
announcement that went out on that list today: please feel free to
circulate this to lists and communities to whom it might be of
interest. I note, also, that I am already getting corrections from
readers: my standard practice will be to run those by the author of
the chapter before entering them, but all you need do is say that you
approve or tell me "stet" if you want something left as it is. If I
don't hear back from you in a reasonable time (a week, say) I will
make these decisions myself. And of course, you can submit
corrections at any time, for your own chapters. If you want to
undertake a more thoroughgoing rewrite or revision at any point, let
me know and I will send you the xml for the chapter (with current
corrections).

The complete text of A Companion to Digital Humanities, co-edited by
GSLIS dean John Unsworth along with Susan Schreibman and Ray Siemens,
is now freely available online, at http://www.digitalhumanities.org/
companion/

The editors are grateful to Blackwell for agreeing to this
arrangement, and to Jonathan Gorman of the UIUC libraries (and the
UIUC Graduate School of Library and Information Science) for
modifying the XTF publishing framework (from the California Digital
Library) so that it works with the Blackwell materials. Please send
any typos or other errors in the text to unsworth_at_uiuc.edu.

A paperback edition of the book will appear in fall of 2007.
