I actually found more similarities to other texts than the ones pointed out
in class. Names seem to have a deeper meaning in this text, like Vineland.
References similar to dark decade about language are brought up toward the
end of the novel. I even found a couple references to white noise. I find
that interesting that as the semester closes, this book kind of sums up the
other novels we have read. I dont know exactly what I think of Acker. I
found it hard to read also. Not difficult, but lewd and tawdry. It did
remind me of a supermarket romance (not that I read that stuff!) :)
