in reply to the last couple messages, i would like to say that i agree with
the fact that this book did have an impact on me, like it or not. i will
remember this book for the triviality and mundane language. yes, i too will
probably never look at shoe laces the same again. this book will never be a
classic. who knows, maybe 100 years from now people will read this and
wonder what an escalator or floating straw is. there might even be a
dictionary of post-modern (gasp!) language, like the dictionary of old
english. hey-anything's possible.
