everything we have read and viewed so far uses technology as the medium of
expression because that's what we have become. we are a technology dependent
world. how many could survive now without computers knowing what we now
know? if we had to use typewriters, or even common pencil and paper, we
would feel archaic. as english majors, in a sense, it would be the end of
the world. how many have lost an important document and thought it was the
end of the world? we all have. as much as we all say that we hated the
movie, or cant relate to some of these books, we can relate. what we are
studying is our life. in a sense, as someone put it, consumerism is the
poetry of our life. it is our drive, motivation, all-consuming. it has
empowered us and at the same time, subjected us to servitude.
anyway, look how we are communicating now. through technology. pretty
soon, we wont remember any other way.
