presenting the readings

I've assigned groups to present readings: you'll find your group and its
assignment on the class projects page. I tried to observe the interests
of the group members as much as possible in making these assignments.

Presenting the reading means:

1) Posting email. No later than Wednesday (5pm) of the week to which your
group is assigned, you should begin discussion of the reading on this email
list. All group members should post to that discussion at least twice,
once before class and once after. Everyone else in class should post at
least once, either before or after, to that week's discussion. Posts may
consist of questions, reactions, objections, observations, remarks, or
fevered dreams, but they should be substantive and substantial--at least
a screen/paragraph or two.

2) Leading class discussion. Just like it sounds: in class time, the
group presenting the reading will be responsible for guiding (or
provoking) the discussion of readings.

3) Looking into at least one suggested reserve reading. New networked
readings are also always welcome finds, and should be announced to the
class in advance, on the email list.

Each group may decide how it wants to meet these basic requirements: you
may assign individual readings to individual group members, you may
divide the task as a whole by topic, or you may organize your
presentation in some other, unforseen way--as long as all members of the
group participate to the extent and in the manner outlined above.
