I like the nice, clear graphic welcoming people to the site.
Well incorporated into the page layout and great clarity. Liked
the second page as well, it's hard to see since I have such a
small window for the page, so it looks cramped right now.

A couple of suggestions for the page. While the VFH wallpaper is
an excellent background for the first links page, it doesn't do
well to have it for all the pages. It makes every page look
exactly alike, which can be confusing if I got buried down in
some links. Maybe a navigation bar will help as well (we can
talk about it tonight). At the bottom of one page as well there
was a large cluster of links crammed together. I liked the way
that you all had a nice separated outline at the top of some of
your pages better than the clustered approach. Finally, you may
want to break up some of the longer pages of information, such as
the guidelines page, which was pretty long. Perhaps breaking it
into sections or giving the user a choice of seeing it all at
once (for easy printing) or viewing it a section at a time?

On the whole, it's a good start. I liked the moving gif of the
book on the "Festival of the Book" page (although for some
reason, I can't load the rest of the page, Netscape keeps
stalling out so I can't see the rest). You all have a lot of
info to work with. Good luck!
