According to the results of the latest High School Academic Proficiency Test, 25% of the 80,000 examinees received a score of "0" on the English composition, which was worth 20 points on the English section of the test.  The majority, just over 50%, fell in the range of 3-5 points, which is quite poor.  So 75% of the students received scores way below average.  In addition, the lack of creativity in the students' essays revealed a deeper problem with the way they are taught.
Perhaps the time has come for us to review our English education system, wouldn't you say?
最近的高中學力基測，八萬名考生中百分之二十的考生英語作文（佔20分）掛零。大部份（略超過50%）則在3-5分之間，實在是很差。所以我們可以說百分之七十五的學生英語程度遠不及平均水準。此外，學生作文沒有創意，也更突顯英語教學的問題。
