Subject: reports of silence somewhat exaggerated

Dear colleagues,

The deluge of Humanist last evening (GMT) has no doubt alerted you to
the error in my prediction that Humanist would remain silent until
2008. I made every effort to comb through the listing of messages
sent to Virginia for processing and managed to rescue a number of
them -- but perhaps not all. Because the problem occurred at that
stage of processing, the issue numbers don't reveal whether anything
remains undiscovered. So, if you haven't seen your posting as yet,
assume it has gone forever and resend, please.

Humanist won't go voluntarily silent for New Year's, since it is my
custom not to celebrate the turnover of the year, though I cannot
promise to behave in a completely exemplary manner when the time
comes. To keep me on the relatively straight and reasonably narrow,
please do not interrupt your flow of postings.

All the best to everyone in the new year.

Yours,
WM
