Yes, I tried to let my doctoral students (laureandi) do that,
i.e., take notes of all they were doing, but it was a flop.
Not that the idea was not good -- I maintain it is -- but it
is very difficult to put in practice. It is very time
consuming. This is why I myself very seldom take and keep
note when I write scripts etc. Possibly the "scientists" are
trained to it from boyhood ;-) We humanists organize our
work differently.

Nevertheless, I suggest that we try and grow our pupils
behaving -- only in this case! -- as scientists.
