Subject: Quotation help
I asked this question before, but received no useful help; now I am
desperate, since I am on the verge of going to press. The question is: Who
was it who said "The best commentary is a translation," or "A translation is
the best commentary." Previous suggestions pointed to Willamowitz (sp. ?),
but nobody came up with an actual citation. Help!
Jim Marchand.
