Subject: Origins of "Lorem ipsum"

Can anyone tell me the origins of the "Lorem ipsum" text that is often used
as content-less filler in word processor tutorials, demos, manuals, etc.?
What is it about the "work" that everyone seems to use it? It sounds
Latin-y, but seems to be complete nonsense--at least to someone as weak in
Latin as I am. Is there more to it than just the two or three lines you
usually see?

Just curious.
