Subject: Re: 10.0518 prosopography
There is a major project going on at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington DC,
which is constructing a database of, among other things, prosopographical
material from Byzantine sources. I saw a demonstration of it recently:
it combines full, accessible texts of the sources (mostly hagiographical)
with a search engine for names, places, themes and lots else. It is
already available for purchase for the pilot period (10th-11th centuries?)
and will continue to be expanded chronologically. I don't have
contact information right in front of me but can supply it if
asked. I think the project deserves being included in any list
of current prosopographical research projects.
