International Conference on Chinese Computing 96 (ICCC96)
The Latest Technological Advancement & Application
June 4-7, 1996, Singapore

Invited Speakers
Prof Makato Nagao (Kyoto University, Japan)
Prof Mark Liberman (University of Pennsylvania, USA)

Keynote Speaker
Dr Low Hwee Boon (Institute of Systems Science, Singapore)

Jointly Organized by
Chinese and Oriental Languages Information Processing (Singapore)
Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore (Singapore)
Chinese Information Processing Society of China (China)

The first international conference on Chinese computing , ICCC86 was held
at the Institute of Systems Science (ISS), National University of Singapore
in August 1986. Participants the world over contributed to its
groundbreaking success with their presentations and exhibitions. This
success led to the formation of our society, COLIPS, in 1988.

In June 1994 we collaborated with the Chinese Information Society of China
and the National University of Singapore and hosted ICCC94. Again, we
received an overwhelming response. More than 150 participants from all
across Europe, North America, as well as Asia attended the conference.

Now, ICCC96 is being organized with the theme "The Latest Technological
Advancement and Applications" and once again it will be held at the ISS.
I hope that all of you will return to this conference to join us in the
10th Anniversary celebrations and to refresh our friendships as well as
foster new ties. With our common effort. I believe that we can push the
R & D activities of the oriental languages to new heights.

Dr Lua Kim Teng,
President,
Chinese & Oriental Languages Information Processing Society
