Subject: query Pergasus
One of my graduate students is working on a 17th C. verse which mentions a
tree that grows in Pergasus (in Sicily). Does anyone have a sense of the
possible significance of such a tree? My student is convinced it is a
phallic image; I am not, but have had no luck investigating this. Any
ideas?

Subject: Notabene word processor (for Windows 3.1)
Hi:
I am thinking about switching word processors, and I heard some
good things about "Notabene." Does anybody have hands-on experiences with
that application? I am especially eager to know about notabene's
performance in the following areas:
a) multilingual text processing (switching
between different languages; dictionaries,etc.)
b) file compatability with other major text
applications, especially with MS Word
c) desktop publishing capabilities (handling of
footnotes, multiple indices, grahic elements;
complete book editing, etc.)
I would be very grateful for any hint.
