You may want to look at Apple's Russian OS or the script and fonts for Slavic
languages coming with NISUS Writer's language pack. I believe there is a
Russian type of Courier in the package that may satisfy the needs of the
dissertation requirements.
The character mapping is accessible through ResEdit - a program that your
computer can make available to you.
