Back when I taught Freshman Comp from the good ole Harbrace Handbook, and
learned to use awk and anac, we cause replacing conjunctions by commas
"comma splice." I no longer own a Harbrace Handbook, but I do remember
that there was a section simply called "Superfluous Use of Commas." Charles
Faulhaber mentions asyndeton, may we could call the use of too many commas
(commata) "polycommaton."
