Someone recently suggested that ISBNs should be used in place of
publisher data. But am I not right in thinking that hardback
and paperback versions, US and UK editions, may all have different
ISBNs? Do reprints necessarily keep the same ISBN? Does anyone
know of any literature on the significance of these esoteric numbers?
