Sorry for the delay, still away at a conference.  The copy on the web is only missing some notes about the other modules, their makefiles, etc.  Partly I was waiting because of a thought that Sebastian might have been about to change the  makefiles slightly.  Starting on the 25th when I'm back at work I had planned to rewrite it to have a a <div> similar to the existing one for each CVS module.  This could then be used to generate a readme for each one, or be linked to from the tei.sf.net CVS page or somesuch.  At the same time I'll downgrade it to P4.   Unless this no longer sounds like a useful document, or you want me to change it into something else.
